Land Rover Series 2a (petrol) - having undegone a nut and bolt restoration
A simply superb restored and renovated example of a car formerly owned by Rick Stein's family and certainly is 5 star.
The restoration was undertaken by reknowned specialist restorers ICONIC 4x4 with pictorial records to support and then did 18 miles before it was snapped up by the last owner.
The little series 2a was owned by Ed Stein as Rick Stein the chief fame and was at the time a complete basket caseIt was completely striped to its individual parts, keeping anything that could be refurbished alternatively either made new or purchase. A list of work includes
New wiring loom and lights
Axels, both gearboxes and the engine where completely stripped and rebuilt with new bearings, brakes
The engine has new pistons, con rods, oil pump, carb and has hardened valve & seats to take unleaded
New chassis
New Shocks, parabolic springs, bushes, brake lines, master cylinder, radiator, lights, dash components
Refurbished gauges
The bodywork fetaure new rear tub, rebuilt the seat box bulkhead, front wings, new doors, windscreen glass, importantly the restorer Ididn’t want any filler in the body work.
Repainted colour to much loved Mid Welsh Grey
New interior with seat belts
New canvas roof.
It was also up graded it with servo brakes, better lights etc. Really needs to be seen to be truly apprecaited
