PORSCHE 914-6 "Kit GT" 1971 Series N°: the details below With only 3333 examples produced, the Porsche 914-6 remains a rare car on the market, and even rarer with a genuine period GT kit (not to be confused with the 914-6 GT, produced in only 15 examples for racing purposes). A unique example: - Same owner for 42 years - A genuine Porsche "GT kit": at the time, Porsche supplied around 400 GT packs to dealers and customers as accessories. The pack meets all the technical specifications: wider wings, fibreglass front and rear bumpers, roof in the same colour as the bodywork, lightened bonnet. Porsche also entered a 914/ 6 'kit GT' in the GT class at Le Mans in 1970. A 2. 4S engine block was fitted in place of the original 2. 0l for performance purposes. It develops no less than 190 bhp. Considering the weight of the car, its performance leaves you speechless. The first owner wanted to get closer to the 916 prototypes, of which 11 were built at the time and equipped with the 2. 4S engine and GT kit. The bodywork is in very good condition.
The chassis and underbody are sound, as are the floorboards and rocker panels. It is fitted with original Fuchs magnesium wheels (7 and 8 inches at the rear). The car has been meticulously preserved in a garage by its owner, which explains its current condition. A Porsche enthusiast who has owned several of the marque's iconic models, he has been maintaining and restoring the car since 1982. The cylinders and pistons were replaced in 2023, as was the shaft line. Since the engine was opened for restoration, the car has covered 2000 km. All the parts come from the great specialist Freisinger. The interior is in perfect condition. The dashboard, carpets and upholstery are all in original condition.
