THE LAMBORGHINI COUNTACH LPI 800-4
In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the one-and-only Countach, Automobili Lamborghini unveiled a futuristic reimagining of the iconic original, aimed at recapturing the original car's 'wow factor' with dramatic looks and thunderous performance. Announced at the prestigious 2021 installment of the Quail: A Motorsports Gathering, the new Countach LPI 800-4 used existing Aventador architecture, but with new styling and even more performance. It was announced that just 112 would be produced a nod to the original car's internal designation "LP112."
While entirely new, the design is undeniably Countach, with distinctive wedge profile, assertive stance, and of course, the large NACA ducts in the flanks. Even from the top-down, the design is spectacular with the central skylight flowing into the louvered engine lid. Stylized versions of the 80s 'phone-dial' wheels, and distinctive geometric taillight housings are all glorious design touches that look absolutely fresh, while honoring the brilliance of the original form.
Power comes from Lamborghini's 6. 5-liter V12, which is supplemented by a 48-volt electric motor mounted in-line with the gearbox and driving all four wheels. A super capacitor stores the energy, which produces three times the power of a lithium-ion battery of the same weight. Total output is 803bhp, propelling the carbon-bodied Countach to 221 mph, with brutal acceleration in all gears.
Less than one week after it was announced, all 112 examples were sold, with customer deliveries commencing in 2022. The Countach LPI 800-4 is certainly one of the most memorable Lamborghinis in recent years, and thanks to its highly exclusive production run, it bound to become one of the most collectible.

The sticker price of this carbon monocoque Lamborghini came out to a staggering sum of $2, 757, 616 USD. It is equipped with the optional Carbon Package 1, which adds $105, 216 to the bottom line and includes an exposed carbon on the front splitter, mirrors, engine cover, rear diffusor, and NACA ducts. Massive black-finish phone-dial wheels (9"x20" up front and 13"x21" in the rear), red calipers, and red wheel nuts add a subtle yet effective touch that tie it all together brilliantly. Other features include Lamborghini's magnetorheological adaptive dampers, front axle lift, and huge carbon ceramic disc brakes.
