Description
E-Type Series 1 FHC with 3. 8 litres in absolute showroom condition with matching numbers. Restored to the highest standards, this vehicle retains its original matching numbers for the chassis, engine, and gearbox, as verified by the Heritage Certificate. It serves as an excellent investment, a reliable classic for personal enjoyment, or a timeless design piece. The colour combination of Dark Opalescent Blue with a red interior is both authentic and striking. This E-Type was manufactured on 23 October 1962, and left the Jaguar factory on 6 November 1962, before being shipped to New York. With no serious sports cars of their own, Americans fell in love with the E-Type, leading to nearly 70% of left-hand drive models being sold in the USA.
In 2021, this E-Type was discovered in remarkable condition, complete with matching numbers, a solid body, and all essential chrome parts. Its excellent state made it an ideal candidate for a nut and bolt restoration, which took 1 ½ years and 2, 000 hours of expert work. Every screw was meticulously handled, all cavities were opened, and only irreparable body parts were professionally replaced. The restoration adhered strictly to the methods used by the Jaguar factory in 1962, ensuring all weld points and details were accurate. Only tin was used for the surfaces, avoiding filler, a technique mastered by only a few specialists today. The gaps and flat body panels are flawless, and two layers of clear coat were applied.
Originally delivered in Carmen Red with a black interior, we opted for an authentic 1962 factory colour combination. Dark Blue Opalescent was exclusive to the 3. 8-litre E-Type. The engine was tested on a bench before installation and subsequently driven for 350 km post-restoration to ensure perfection.
This E-Type offers unparalleled quality, originality, and driving pleasure. It was a dream car in the 1960s and remains so today. We look forward to your enquiry and offer comprehensive workshop services post-purchase.
