Hello, I am selling my 1962 Giulietta SS (Sprint Speciale). Just over 1, 000 of these were produced and designed by Scaglione for Bertone. Equipped with a 5-speed gearbox and the same engine as the Giulietta SZ (a more competition-oriented version designed by Zagato), the design was inspired by the BAT Alfa Romeo concept cars, also designed by Scaglione in the mid-1950s.
This car was delivered new to Boulogne Billancourt in France on 6 March 1962 and is still in its original configuration: Bluette exterior, red-bordeaux leather interior with matching carpet. The engine and gearbox have never been replaced. It has only had 4 owners (including myself since 1962), the previous one keeping it for over 50 years!
During the period 2023-2025, it underwent a number of maintenance and reliability upgrades, for a total bill of around €16, 000: - General overhaul:
Engine, gearbox and rear axle oil change Coolant replacement Air filter replacement Installation of an electronic ignition system, New ignition wiring harness (original igniter available) Replacement of spark plugs Replacement of fuel filter Replacement of accessory belt Valve clearance Replacement of cylinder head cover gasket - Replacement of rear suspension springs and rear shock absorbers - Complete overhaul of both carburettors, including jets - Adjustment of brake mechanisms (three-shoe on SS models) + brake bleeding - Replacement of engine mountings and gearbox mountings - Replacement of complete exhaust system (manifold, Replacement of engine and gearbox mounts - Replacement of complete exhaust system (manifold, intermediate, silencer) - Replacement of all cooling hoses - Refurbishment of radiator (dismantling, refurbished wiring harness, paintwork) - Replacement of differential seals - New lower casing (quite fragile on these models) - Set of new carpets with complete original rubber mat - Complete sealing of gearbox (photos available) - Replacement of engine spinnaker seal - Replacement of front shock absorbers with refurbished springs - Replacement of brake switch - Replacement of clutch with release bearing The tyres are in excellent condition and recent. This Giulietta has been preserved with as many period features as possible to retain its charm. The paintwork is therefore not new, and for me that's what gives it its charm, because it's still completely usable without fear of a micro-scratch. The same goes for the interior, which still has its old-fashioned feel (even the windows are all still original). I'm supplying the Giulietta with: - Alfa Romeo certificate of origin - Owner's booklet - Documents and period books on the model - Old invoices - Photocopy of the old registration document dated 1967 - Current registration document in my name - MOT less than 6 months old The sale price is set at 105, 000 euros.
