A stunning car coming to us with over £100k in bills with a huge restoration undertaken by marque specialists Ashton Keynes restorations. This is a very rare caochbuilt James Young example supplied new to Crawfords Biscuits in 1957. Whilst at James Youngs, the car was sent back to Crewe to have power steeing fitted by the factory which makes it a pleasure to drive, particularly when at low parking type speeds. The original registration number was ULX 631 and the engine was numbered BB74. The body is the 4 door 4 light saloon by James Young of which 26 were built on the Bentley chassis. The design was B10 and the body number was 3024.
Detailed Bills come with the car detiling assorted correspondence between the New York based owner & Ashton Keynes restorations & document just how exhaustive the restoration process was. Indeed it emerged from their premises looking like a new car.
The car presents beautifully in Regal Red over Tudor Grey with the paint being immaculate. Indeed the car has ben a trophy winner at assorted concours events in 2024. To the interior is St James red leather again in very very fine condition along with with red pile lambswool carpets & over rugs.
The car was ordered new with Power assisted steering & also picnic tables for the rear passengers. Enthusiast/ engineer onwed it is a car that wants for nothing. The engine bay is to concours standards & runs in silence allied to a gear box that deliveres seamless imperecptible gear changes. The B10 design is one of the more elegant to come out of the James Young works with beautiful elegant body lines from any angle.
The current owner at the age of 84 has now decided to allow the car to be enjoyed by a new owner. Viewings are in S Yorkshire, but we can also bring the car to our Showroom. This is a car that has to be seen & driven in irder to appreciate the quality of it.
