HISTORY/ DOCUMENTATION
Vetroresina: Italian for fibreglass. It is the name of the first series of the Ferrari 308, of which only 712 were built. No less than 150 kg lighter than the “standard” Ferrari 308. A rarity and therefore valuable. The Ferrari has a “Ferrari Classiche” certificate: a research report that proves the authenticity of the Ferrari. These certificates are only issued by Ferrari Classiche in Maranello. This report, issued in 2025, is a work of art in itself. It speaks for itself: the Ferrari has been completely restored to its original condition. Built in 1977, this car originally came from France. In 1996, it had a mileage of 71, 865 kilometres, after which it ended up in the collection of a Spanish car collector. Here, the car was stored in a dry and heated garage and was often exhibited at shows and events. The car has been registered with a Dutch number plate since 2018. In addition to the “Ferrari Classiche” folder, the car comes with a French-language technical manual, valuation reports and many maintenance invoices.

EXTERIOR
This example is a rare model in the original colour combination of “Argento Auteuil” silver paintwork with black leather upholstery in the “Pelle Nera” interior. Particularly tasteful and rare. A characteristic feature is the original “California” side mirror. Visually, the Vetroresina is still in good condition: the paintwork is fresh and the rubbers are in good condition. The original 5-spoke alloy wheels are also in good condition. The underside of the car is in top condition with no rust. The Pininfarina design, with its undulating lines and distinctive pop-up headlights, is shown to great effect in this tasteful colour.

INTERIOR
The interior is also in very good condition: free of damage and tears. The floor mats and headliner are neat and the leather is beautiful to look at and feel. A pleasant cockpit with attractive gauges, and equipped with just the right amount of luxury: a Blaupunkt radio, air conditioning and electric windows. The front boot is also in good condition. The overall condition of the interior suggests that the Ferrari has low mileage.

TECHNICAL
The engine compartment is dry and shows the shiny V8 engine, which is original. The gearbox is also original, as evidenced by the “Ferrari Classiche” report. In 2015, extensive maintenance was carried out on the car in Barcelona, with an invoice amount of approximately €14, 000. In January 2025, a major service including distribution was carried out at Ferrari dealer Kroymans (worth €3, 400). The current MOT is valid until 23 May 2026. It is clear that the car has been well maintained technically, as it drives and shifts gears well.

GENERAL INFORMATION
The 308 was one of Ferrari's most successful models. So well known, in fact, that in 2004 it ranked 5th in the “Top Sports Cars of the 70s”. This is the first series of the 308 GTB, which was built from 1975 to mid-1977. Thanks to its fibreglass body, the 308 GTB Vetroresina weighs only 1, 050 kg, about 150 kg less than the later 308 GTBs. Only 712 units of this first series were made, making it the most sought-after version of the 308 GTB. Approximately 400 units are left-hand drive. While the mid-mounted V8 engine is now inextricably linked to Ferrari, it was still a new phenomenon at the time of the 308 GTB. The V8 had only recently been introduced in the 308 GT4. The 2. 9-litre V8 from that car also found its way into the 308 GTB. The engine remained unchanged, giving both the 308 GTB and the GT4 255 hp.

A Vetroresina differs from the regular 308 in the following ways:
- Reversing lights in the bumper instead of in the indicators
- There is a black strip on the A-pillar to connect the panels
- The panel between the rear lights is straight and has no recess for a number plate
- Always fitted with a single exhaust
