Description
A beautifully presented and exceptionally well-cared-for example of one of Aston Martin’s most elegant grand tourers, this 1967 Aston Martin DB6 Mk1 Saloon is finished in the timeless and highly desirable combination of Chichester Blue with Linen hide interior.
Supplied new in 1967, the DB6 Mk1 represents a key chapter in Aston Martin history, refining the classic Touring-designed shape while introducing important advancements over the DB5. Most notably, the DB6 was the first Aston Martin to feature the now-famous Kamm tail, improving high-speed stability while retaining the marque’s unmistakable elegance. Increased cabin space and improved ventilation also made the DB6 a more usable and accomplished grand tourer.
This particular example benefits from a comprehensive restoration carried out by Auto Restorations in New Zealand in 2006, a respected specialist known for high-quality, sympathetic work on classic Aston Martins. The restoration was undertaken to an excellent standard, preserving originality where appropriate while ensuring the car could be properly enjoyed on the road.
Most recently, in December 2025, the car was entrusted to Spray Tec Restorations, where £13, 500 was spent on a major service and the rectification of any outstanding issues. This recent investment ensures the car is mechanically sorted and ready for immediate use, offering reassurance to the next custodian.
The interior remains a highlight, with beautifully finished Linen hide, classic instrumentation and the unmistakable sense of craftsmanship that defines Aston Martin’s Newport Pagnell era. The car currently shows 37, 500 miles, consistent with its history and condition.
Well restored, carefully maintained and presented in one of the most elegant colour combinations available, this DB6 Mk1 Saloon offers a rare opportunity to acquire a properly sorted example of a true British motoring icon. A car equally suited to concours events, touring rallies or simply being enjoyed as intended, it represents Aston Martin grand touring at its very best.
