The R34 GT-R was a technological powerhouse ahead of its time. Nissan’s 2. 6-litre RB26DETT twin-turbo inline-six, officially rated at 280bhp, was widely believed to produce over 300bhp in reality. The car’s ATTESA E-TS Pro all-wheel-drive system allowed torque vectoring across the rear axle, while Super-HICAS four-wheel steering delivered an agility few could match.
With its race-derived engineering, the R34 GT-R redefined expectations for high-performance coupes. Today, it stands as the final and most evolved iteration of the legendary RB26-powered Skyline GT-Rs, before the introduction of the larger and heavier R35 in 2007.
