Description
This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Classic Sale at Supercar Fest 2026 on Saturday the 16th of May, Sywell Aerodrome, Sywell, Northampton, NN6 0BN.
Introduced in June 1970, the Triumph Stag was conceived as a luxury convertible sportscar to rival the likes of the R107-series Mercedes-Benz SL and came equipped with electric windows, power-assisted rack and pinion steering and servo-backed disc/ drum brakes as standard
Based around a two-door monocoque bodyshell, the newcomer featured all round independent suspension (McPherson strut front/ semi-trailing arm rear) and a well laid-out 2+2 cabin.
With some 145bhp and 167lb/ ft of torque available from its bespoke 2, 997cc SOHC V8 engine, the model was reputedly capable of 120mph.
This impressive example was originally finished in yellow and now presents exceptionally well in Pimento Red with factory-style alloy wheels and a neatly fitting black soft top roof
Smart interior in black leathercloth with black carpets. Very tidy engine bay and underneath
Equipped with the desirable manual / overdrive transmission combination, offering a more engaging driving experience
Patently benefiting from careful ownership and ongoing maintenance, the Stag presents well throughout and appears to have been enjoyed as intended whilst retaining its original character
The current MOT is valid until June 2026 and was issued with no advisories
A well regarded British classic offering open-top touring, V8 performance and distinctive 1970s styling in one usable and increasingly collectible package
