The car presented here is a February 1988 PONTIAC Fiero GT in its original “Bright Red 81” colour (matching colour).
The bodywork and paint are in good condition. The finish is deep with excellent gloss.
After a professional polish with orbital machine by our workshop, we noted light graveling on the front face and a few micro-scratches.
The original rear wing is in good condition despite a small crack on the edge.
The pop-up headlights are fully functional and opening occurs without delay or abnormal noise.
The bumpers, though highly exposed, are in good condition.
The original central locking no longer functions.
The four 17” ATS wheels are in good condition, with only light scuff marks.
The four tyres show 10% wear at the front and at the rear.
This example is equipped with a spare wheel, a hand crank and a jack.
Among the “body” equipment and options, notable items on this model include:
Blue gradient windscreen, 17” ATS aluminium wheels and the rear wing.
Interior:
The cabin retains its strict original layout and presents in very good condition.
Original Grey velour seats are in good condition, without snags, discolouration or signs of wear.
We noted a small cigarette burn on the driver’s seat backrest.
The door reinforcements are in good condition, with no sagging or discolouration.
The Grey PVC dash cap is in very good condition.
The dashboard and centre console are also in very good condition.
The original 3‑spoke adjustable steering wheel in Grey vinyl shows a light patina from use.
The gear knob in Grey vinyl is in good original condition.
The entire instrument panel is fully functional except for the era’s air conditioning.
This example is equipped with a perfectly functioning PIONEER CD radio.
We noted a slight sag in the headlining.
The original Grey carpets are protected by custom over-mats.
Among the notable interior equipment and options, this example features: the adjustable 3-spoke steering wheel and the PIONEER CD radio.
Chassis:
Pole onto the ramp confirms a healthy chassis, with no visible accident damage or structural corrosion.
Usage reserve: as a matter of principle we cannot guarantee perfect alignments beyond their good visual and functional condition validated during road test and lifting onto the ramp.
During the dynamic test we noted no abnormal noises from the body or running gear (ball joints, bushings...).
Braking is balanced, stable and progressive, with no vibrations or abnormal noises.
Front discs wear 10% and rear wear 10%.
Front brake pads will be renewed prior to delivery.
Rear brake pads show 15% wear.
The pre-delivery MOT (technical inspection) carried out by our workshop will confirm overall functioning.
Engine / Transmission:
The mechanicals operate perfectly.
The original 2. 8L V6 fires up instantly, idle is stable, and the engine does not overheat, as confirmed by the 360° video with the engine running available at the start of the slideshow..
Compression tests and road test by our workshop confirm a healthy 6-cylinder.
During driving, power delivery and speed build smoothly with no jolts.
The V6 tone is enhanced by a 4-outlet sport exhaust.
The 5-speed manual gearbox shifts smoothly with no clutch or synchro issues.
Clutch grip is good.
As is common with older engines, engine-to-transmission sealing is only average.
