Description
We are pleased to offer this well-presented Austin Healey 3000 MkIIA, a car previously sold by The Forge and recently improved with approximately £7, 000 of expenditure in 2026. The work included the installation of an EasySteer electric power steering system, a rear disc brake conversion, and refurbishment of the wire wheels.
The accompanying British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate confirms that this Austin Healey 3000 MkII Convertible retains its original factory specification, aside from a professionally completed right-hand-drive conversion carried out to a high standard. It is identified by Chassis Number H-BJ7-L/ 204632, Engine Number 29F-RU-H/ 1136, and Body Number 56015.
Originally built as a left-hand-drive export model, the car was finished in Healey Blue with a Blue interior and Blue hood. Production was completed between 2nd and 3rd July 1962, before being dispatched on 17th July 1962 to Austin Healey dealer Continental Cars of St. Louis, Missouri, USA. Factory options included wire wheels, heater, adjustable steering column, Roadspeed tyres, laminated windscreen, and overdrive.
Between 2020 and 2022, the car benefited from a comprehensive restoration carried out to a high standard. Since completion, it has seen limited use and has been carefully stored as part of a private collection.

Driving Experience
On the road, the Healey performs as a well-sorted example should. The engine is strong and responsive, maintaining excellent oil pressure, while the gearbox operates smoothly with precise synchromesh engagement. The overdrive functions correctly, and the combination of the recent steering and braking upgrades contributes to a confident and enjoyable driving experience. It is an attractive and usable Big Healey that is equally suited to touring, events, or continued enjoyment as part of a collection.

A Note for Prospective Owners:
As with virtually all classic cars of this period, minor oil seepage from seals and gaskets should be expected due to the vehicle’s age, together with the traditional engineering methods and materials used in its original manufacture. When not excessive, this is considered entirely normal for vehicles of this era and forms part of the character and ownership experience associated with traditional classic motoring.
At The Forge Prees, we supply with every classic car a bespoke drip tray for placement beneath the vehicle whilst in storage, helping to neatly capture and contain any minor seepage when the car is not in use.
