To Be OFFERED AT AUCTION at RM Sothebys' The Woodcote Park Auction event, 8 July 2026.
£90, 000 - £110, 000 GBP

Tourist Trophy-style polished two-seater taper-tail body built in the style of Woolf Barnato’s Jarvis-bodied 3-Litre
Retained by its consigning owner since 2009
Driven extensively in current ownership on rallies and tours throughout Europe
Accompanied by a history file that includes expired FIVA papers, copies of registry entries, maintenance invoices, and event photos

This 3-Litre Speed Model is identified by the dashboard key plate, numbered 548, of the car from which its engine was sourced, delivered in May 1924 to one WCG Black and later damaged in a fire in 1948. The engine is mated to what appears to be a Bentley Works Service recommissioned chassis frame, appropriately numbered RC964, shortened to 9 ft 9. 5 in wheelbase and fitted with a Tourist Trophy-style polished two-seater taper-tail body with vermillion wings, built in the style of Woolf Barnato’s famed Jarvis-bodied 3-Litre by Grabner of Oxford in 1969.

The car was entered the collection of its consigning owner in 2009 from noted specialist Stanley Mann, its owner since 1995 and restorer. Further notes in the file indicate that new gears were installed in the gearbox and rear axle, among other modifications—invoices for which are included in the file. More recently, C-Type gears were supplied by William Medcalf.

Since its acquisition, the vendor has enjoyed this Bentley with their family on many tours and rallies throughout Europe, as well as taking on the famed Nürburgring. It has been an excellent mount for such journeys and will continue to be so for a new enthusiastic caretaker.

Please note this lot has entered the UK on a temporary import bond, which must be cancelled either by exporting the lot outside of the UK on an approved Bill of Lading with supporting customs documentation or by paying the applicable VAT and import duties to have the lot remain in the UK.
