Built by the vendor almost 67 years ago combines a 1959 A7 frame with a 650cc A10 ‘Rocket’ specification engine
Enhanced by lightweight mudguards and a chrome tank
Long-term ownership, supplied with current V5C Registration Document
In the late 1950s, BSA offered a highly regarded range of parallel twins, with the 500cc A7 and 650cc A10 models forming the backbone of its sporting and touring line-up. The A10, particularly in its ‘Rocket’ variants, delivered enhanced performance through higher compression, improved breathing and the adoption of an alloy cylinder head.
This example is understood to have been built by the vendor almost 67 years ago and combines the frame of a 1959 A7 with a 650cc A10 ‘Rocket’ specification engine. The engine is stamped ‘CA10R’ and is fitted with an alloy cylinder head and Amal Monobloc carburettor, consistent with the more sporting Super Rocket-type specification.
Presented in a period-style finish, with a lighter, more purposeful aesthetic reminiscent of BSA’s later Rocket Gold Star concept, the machine is further enhanced by a chrome fuel tank and lightweight mudguards, and presents well. It has been off the road for some time and will require recommissioning prior to use.
Offered for sale due to the vendor’s declining health, the machine is accompanied by a current Swansea V5C. An unusual, long-term owned and characterful one-off BSA twin, offering considerable appeal as a usable classic.
