Description

Just 79780 km from new — a remarkably original and increasingly rare survivor from one of the most fascinating collaborations in automotive history.

First registered in Portugal in 1986, this Rover 213 SE remains a wonderfully preserved example of the original Rover 200 Series, combining traditional British refinement with the proven reliability of Honda engineering.

Finished in elegant Gold Metallic and specified in desirable SE trim, this example offers a level of comfort, craftsmanship and understated sophistication rarely found in compact family cars of its era.

At a time when most manufacturers focused purely on practicality, Rover created something altogether more distinctive. Deep velour seating, walnut veneer trim and a calm, refined character gave the 213 SE an ambience usually associated with much larger executive cars.

Further enhanced by tasteful Vitesse features, including front and rear spoilers and lattice-style alloy wheels, this example remains period-correct while offering a subtly sporting appearance.

Condition:

This Rover 213 SE presents in very good and highly original condition throughout.

The Gold Metallic paintwork remains smart and well preserved, showing only minor age-related imperfections consistent with careful long-term ownership. The bodywork presents particularly well across the arches, sills and underside, while the Vitesse spoilers, exterior trim, chrome details and seals remain in impressive condition.

A minor scuff to one door mirror is noted, as shown in the accompanying photographs.

The lattice-style Vitesse alloy wheels remain in very good condition and are fitted with quality Yokohama tyres throughout.

Inside, the condition is especially impressive. The plush velour interior shows minimal signs of use, while the walnut veneer trim remains beautifully preserved. The cabin retains its original character and atmosphere, further enhanced by what appears to be the original radio cassette.

Mechanical Condition:

• 1, 342cc EV2 Honda-derived four-cylinder petrol engine

With just two owners, documented provenance, low mileage and an exceptional level of originality, it represents a compelling opportunity for collectors seeking something discreet, unusual and increasingly scarce.
