Description
The Mercedes-Benz W126, or S-Class (derived from Super-Class), was the top model of the German automaker in the 1980s. The car was produced in several body styles, including a stylish coupé, the SEC. The most exclusive version, without a doubt, was the 560 SEC: a highly luxurious and stunning coupé with an impressive 5. 6-litre V8 engine. The design was created by the well-known Italian-German designer Bruno Sacco.
This Mercedes-Benz 560 SEC, built in 1986, was originally supplied in Italy and has been in the Netherlands for a number of years. And without a doubt, this stylish classic car is in impressively beautiful condition, and it’s clear that the owners have looked after it with great care and love. Unfortunately, there isn’t much documentation left with the car, but based on the documents that are available, some (service) history can still be traced, and the car has also been registered with the A. S. I. in Italy.
The bodywork is in very good to (almost) perfect condition. The black metallic body colour (officially Blauwschwarz Metallic, colour code 199) has a deep shine and is in very good condition. In the past, the car was professionally resprayed once, which means this stylish coupé is in near-new condition. The original 15” alloy wheels are a perfect match for this Mercedes-Benz and are in very good condition. The various rubber parts and trims are also in very good condition. The car is also fitted with an original sliding sunroof.
The interior is equally impressively well preserved. The perfectly matching light-grey interior is still fully original and in very good condition. The seats are particularly comfortable, which is exactly what you’d expect from this very luxurious German coupé. Of course, this car is equipped with all the comforts you’d want, such as electrically operated windows all round, electrically adjustable seats, and so on. The car also comes with the original Mercedes-Benz radio. The dashboard is also in very good condition and all instruments work properly. The various wood trims on the dashboard give the car extra class and are in good condition.
Under the bonnet sits an impressive powerplant. This 5. 6-litre V8 is not only beautiful to look at, but also genuinely great to drive. The powerful engine produces 300 bhp, allowing you to cruise around in comfort. The four-speed automatic gearbox shifts smoothly and effortlessly. This Mercedes-Benz 560 SEC steers particularly light and easy, and the brakes feel solid and well judged. Naturally, this car was already known for the high-quality build of the German marque, but it’s still impressive 40 years after production.
