Bodywork / Exterior:
The model presented here is a January 1987 MERCEDES 560 SL in its original “Signalrot 568” paint (colour-matched).
The exterior bodywork is in good visual condition.
After professional orbital polishing carried out by our workshop, we noted the presence of a few micro-scratches on the front bonnet as well as a dent on the left side.
We also found a dent on the passenger door and on the driver’s door.
The chrome bumpers are perfectly aligned and in good condition.
We noted a small dent on the left rear bumper.
The tinted, graduated “Grün” windscreen is in good condition.
This example is fitted with its original “Signalrot 568” hard top.
Its headliner in micro-perforated “Sand Beige” faux leather is in excellent condition.
Fitting is straightforward and sealing is in line with the original.
All glazing is also free from defects.
We found a small mark on the trim surround on the driver’s side.
The original mohair hood in “Schwarz” is in excellent condition.
The hood is also easy to fit and its sealing remains correct to the original.
We noted a slight oxidation mark on the rear boot handle.
The fog lights are perfectly operational, as is the third brake light.
This example is equipped with a fully functioning electric aerial.
The original 15” aluminium wheels (x4) are in very good condition.
They are shod with four 4-season tyres with 20% wear at the front and 20% at the rear.
This example includes its original spare wheel and jack.
Among the interesting “Bodywork / Exterior” equipment and options this model is equipped with, we noted:
The electric aerial, the fog lights, the original 15” MERCEDES aluminium wheels, and the original “Signalrot 568” Hard Top.
Interior / Cabin:
The interior has kept its original configuration and presents in very good condition.
The “Sand Beige” leather upholstery is in excellent presenting condition.
The matching “Sand Beige” faux-leather door cards are in good condition.
We noted a scuff on the driver’s-side glovebox recess.
The dashboard and its “Schwarz” faux-leather cover are in very good condition, with no cracks, distortions, or fading.
The varnish on the wood veneer of the centre console is in good condition.
All of the VDO instrument cluster and the clock are perfectly operational.
The electrically operated passenger mirror is also fully functional.
The DECKER Grand Prix radio with Bluetooth connection is perfectly operational.
This example is equipped with power steering and cruise control.
The air conditioning is perfectly operational.
The original “Schwarz” faux-leather steering wheel, as well as the leather gear knob, are in excellent condition.
All the “Sand Beige” carpets are in very good condition.
Among the interesting “Interior / Cabin” equipment and options this example is equipped with, we noted:
The “Sand Beige” leather upholstery, front seatbelts, power steering, cruise control, electric windows, and the DECKER Grand Prix radio with Bluetooth connection.
Chassis:
Once the vehicle is lifted, it confirms a healthy body, with no evidence of accidents and no apparent structural corrosion.
The fundamentals—sills, lower wings, wheel arches, floor pans, and longitudinal members—are in good condition.
Usage reserve: by principle, we cannot guarantee perfect panel alignments beyond their good visual and functional condition confirmed during the road test and once lifted.
During the dynamic test, we did not find any abnormal extraneous noises from the body or running gear (ball joints, bushes/ silentblocks, etc.).
Braking is aligned, stable, and compliant with period standards.
The front and rear brake discs and pads show 10% wear.
The technical inspection carried out by our workshop before delivery will also confirm that everything is functioning properly.
Engine / Transmission:
The MERCEDES 5. 5L V8 runs perfectly.
The engine compression test carried out in our workshops, together with the road test, confirms a V8 in excellent health.
The V8 starts instantly and the idle is stable, as confirmed by the 360° video filmed with the engine running and available at the beginning of the slideshow.
The V8’s sound is enhanced by the installation of a stainless-steel intermediate silencer.
The oil pressure measured cold by our workshop is 3 bar at 900/ min.
On the move, the engine pulls cleanly without hesitation or overheating.
The four gears of the automatic gearbox shift up and down easily and without any issues.
As is often the case with these models, engine/ gearbox sealing remains average.
