Description
Motodrome offer this 2003 Land Rover Discovery II G4 challenge vehicle.
This is a genuine factory built G4 Challenge example (not to be confused with the lesser ‘G4 edition’), and its recently undergone a comprehensive refurbishment programme to an excellent standard,
For the 2003 Land Rover G4 Challenge, encompassing the East coast of the USA, South Africa, Australia, and then back to America to Las vegas and the Moab desert, Land Rover prepared 62 Discovery II's to full G4 competition standard as support vehicles for the Freelanders that were actually competing. Although apparently some of the 62 actually competed on the US stages.
All were petrol 4. 0 or 4. 6 litre V8's to HSE or ES spec, and as far as we're aware, all were automatic.
According to the TFL website, it’s currently ULEZ compliant
Resplendent in the correct Tangiers Orange, BT52 OVY is one of those 62 vehicles, and, being Right Hand Drive, probably did the South Africa / Australia legs. There’s certainly paperwork in the comprehensive history to show that it was in Freemantle in early 2003, registered to Land Rover, and with the licence plate 1BIJ662.
Since Land Rover returned it to the UK in December 2003, it’s had 4 further keepers including 1 very long-term, from 2007 to 2025, and it’s well known to the G4 owners club.
It comes with a lot of rare G4 Challenge promotional material as well.
