The Fiat Dino is a very special car in several respects and actually came into existence because Ferrari needed to homologate a V6 engine for Formula 2. This V6 engine was named the Dino V6 engine in memory of Enzo Ferrari's son. In the 1960s, Ferrari entered into an agreement with Fiat to produce sufficient V6 engines. A stylish sports car was specially designed for this purpose, which was introduced as both a convertible (Spider) and a coupe. They were two very different cars, as the Spider was designed by Pininfarina and the coupe came from Bertone. The Fiat Dino was introduced in 1966 and was initially available with a 2. 0 V6 engine. A few years later (in 1969), the car was delivered with a 2. 4-liter V6 engine. The same engine was also used in the Ferrari Dino 246 GT. In addition to a more powerful engine, the new Fiat Dino 2400 was also equipped with independent rear suspension and other technical improvements. This Fiat Dino 2400 Coupé, produced in 1972, was originally delivered in Switzerland in the stunning color Azzurro Cielo metallic (color code 448) with a Marrone light brown leather interior. The car was repainted in the past (while retaining the original color, of course), and the interior remains completely original and in very good condition. It is evident that this car has been maintained with great love and care. This beautiful Fiat Dino arrived in the Netherlands in 1992 and has been in the hands of the current owner since 2013. The maintenance history is not entirely complete, but the last thirteen years have been documented.
This impressive Fiat Dino 2400 Coupé not only features a stunning color combination but is also in very good condition. The beautiful Azzurro Cielo body color has a deep sheen, and the various chrome and trim parts are also in very good condition. This also applies to the various rubber parts and finishes. The body panels fit together well, and the doors close solidly and securely. The stunning Cromodora alloy wheels are still completely original and in very good condition.
The interior is still in impressively beautiful condition. The beautiful Marrone light brown leather interior forms a wonderful combination with the blue body color and is still completely original. The various chrome and trim parts are also in perfect condition. The dashboard is stunning to look at and all instruments work properly. The wood trim is in very good condition. The seats are exceptionally comfortable and in good condition. It is impressive to see that the original interior is still in such perfect condition.
Under the hood lies a magnificent 2. 4-liter V6 engine block. It is clear that this car has been maintained with great love and care. The engine bay is in very neat and well-maintained condition. This Fiat Dino 2400 Coupé drives and shifts exceptionally smoothly, and the brakes also feel firm and solid. This stunning Italian coupé is without a doubt a delightful driver's car and also steers exceptionally smoothly. With 180 hp, the V6 engine delivers sufficient power to drive this Fiat Dino comfortably and sportily.
