Reluctant sale of my beautiful E240. 42, 000 miles and a pristine car. Belonged to my Grandmother (owner from new) until August of 2013 it has a Full service history from the Mercedes Garage it was purchased from, including a mid year health check. Kept in her garage.
I was charged with selling the car on her behalf but I sold my car instead and kept it. However the same old story, I lost my job and now I have had to buy a smaller car as I've found a temporary job as a delivery driver and I refuse to submit the Mercedes to that treatment!
The car is genuinely pristine, never restored or patched or any tricks to make it look better. Its 17 years old and there are a few marks on the car, a small scuff on one door panel, it will polish out and hasnt gone through the lacquer. Wing mirror has a score in it thats gone through to the plastic, and a 50p size scuff in the paint on the bonnet, once again will polish out.
One or two stone chip rust spots but tiny and I generally sort them when I find them with rust reverter and the chip repair kit that came with the car.
The interior is equally tidy, Blue cloth seats, wood dash and console, the only damage is to the vinyl on the luggage cover holder, where its been deeply scored.
Well sprung, comfortable seats (including 2 rear facing fold-flat in the boot) simple cruise control easy driver despite its size with excellent all round visibility.
Would ideally suit large family, or small business owner looking to move pretty much anything. Comes with original factory fitted detachable towbar, but has never been used.
I was intending to convert it to LPG as there is ample room to fit a tank and would remove the cars only slight flaw that it runs less than 20mpg in town but a respectable 35 on motorways. Same as a 4x4 but with far more space. I'm selling it at a lower price than the quality dictates to entice someone to buy the car and do the work and use it.
Its currently Sorn'd as the tax and my insurance ran out at the same time. New MOT however until Sep 15. No faults found anywhere on the car, 0 advisories.
