General Information
In original colour of Tangerine of which 22 were made (Tangerine being the colour used to launch the car when it was first released at the London motor show)
This particular car is amongst the few later ones built with a “J” Series body, hence the “J” badge on the rear panel behind the back windows and is known as the 138 chassis.
The SP was a limited version of the Interceptor and replaced the FF as the flagship, as a result came with many features such as the more powerful High compression engine with the tripple carbs and upgrades to parts of the engine and gearbox. which all helped to improve the BHP to 385. Externally the only differences between the standard interceptor and the SP are the full louvres on the bonnet and the blue rather than the red wheel centres and bonnet badge.

It is with great regret and a tear in my eye that I find myself writing this advert for the sale of my beloved Jensen.
I have owned this beautiful car for 8 years and cannot even attempt to add up the hours I have spent improving her both mechanically cosmetically to a very high standard. This car did not require many new parts due to its originality, most of the refurbishment/ rolling restoration has been carried out utilising the original parts. I have tried not to replace anything.
It still retains its original fixtures, such as original carpets in perfect condition (with the chassis number still hand written on the underside), original foam/ rubber carpet underlay all of which are still in excellent condition, which is almost unheard of for a car of this age. The exterior bodywork also benefits from its original chassis numbered panels, which is why everything fits as it should, with perfect panel alignments and door gaps, even the wheel arches are the originals, which again is virtually unheard of and identified by the rolled lip on the top inside. The body is solid, as are the floor pans, chassis, sills etc. The car is as clean underneath as it is on top and together we have achieved prestigious awards in concourse events.
This car has not seen much in the way of wet weather and it has always been garaged.
It comes with two large bulging lever arch files, which contain historical information and original build sheets from the Jensen factory, which includes factory records and letters from Jensen service dealers along with thousands of pounds worth of receipts. The factory records make fantastic reading.
The car was taken off the road for many years prior to my ownership, which is probably how it managed to retain so much of its originality.
This car is an absolute pleasure to drive and feels so tight on the road, always starts hot or cold and has never overheated.

Feb 2014: Photo shoot for feature in Practical classic magazine (March issue) with many hi- definition photos.
May 2014: the car took part in a very high profile and high quality photo shoot around Canary wharf, London in ready for a new classic car show soon to be released. (See a brief trailer, see “Quentin willsons The Classic car show” on U tube), This very car will be shown being driven by Quentin. I have many photos of the event and can’t wait to see it broadcast.
Due to this show I believe values are set to rocket and deservedly so.

So to summarise …
You have opportunity to buy without doubt one of the best kept and most original Jensen’s available.
I have a recent valuation letter from “The Jensen owners club” advising that the current value is £62, 750. 00
It has the added value of being a genuine SP. A car in this condition does not come up for sale very often and is only being sold to fund the further education of my daughter. (Regrettably no student loan available for post-graduates). You therefore have the advantage of obtaining a car that has taken 8 years of my time and efforts for which it was never my intention to ever let go.
