Beschreibung
We are reluctantly selling our 1966 Austin Mini. This car was subject of a professional bare shell restoration between 2013 - 2015 and has done very few journeys since then. Since being restored it has been kept in a garage. There is not a part of this car that has not received professional and perfectionist attention. We have numerous bills detailing the parts fitted to it. Some parts under car and in engine by have been powder coated in red, white, or blue to give this car a unique look whilst not detracting from the overall original 1960's look. As an example of the level of detail which has gone into this car all screws etc used on the car have been zinc coated for extra protection. Many parts for example the subframes have been powder coated to aid this car in remaining rust free. I will try to explain everything that has been done in a logical manner.
External
Was re-shelled in 1984 into a MK3 shell however has retained the original MK1 look with MK1 rear lights, boot and grille. Was re-sprayed in 2015 in its original Almond Green with Old English White roof (Some of the photos don't show the true colour very well but it is Almond green). In 2013-2015 during bare shell restoration was fitted with new Heritage right and left inner wing, scuttle panel, Left and Right wing, Front panel, Right and Left A panel, MK1 bonnet and roof. New subframes and powder coated mounts fitted in 2013. There is no rust anywhere on this car and the underneath is as clean as the top. 3 'Italian job' style spot lights and steering guard give the car a restrained rally appearance whilst the steering guard also stiffens up front end of the car improving the driving experience.
Internal
Original seats have been retained and only cleaned. New Newton Commercial Carpets fitted in 2015 as well as new door cards front and rear. All new original style cream crackle headlining and c post fitted. Steering column and centre binnacle flock coated. Retains original 'magic wand' gear stick.
Mechanical
998 A+ engine with 1. 5" su carb and red samco high performance hoses. When this car was being restored samco didn't produce hoses for this engine so the original hoses were sent to them as a template. New suspension rubbers and kayala gas adjust dampers. All bushes renewed. Front brakes are cooper s disc brakes and the new wheels have correct Cooper s offset enabling them to be fitted without wheelarches. Completely new wiring loom fitted along with electronic ignition making cold weather starting a bit easier. Lots of other new parts too numerous to list fitted. All parts fitted are detailed in the paperwork.
We have bills for many thousands of pounds spent on this car and it shows. You will not find a better mini than this. An immaculate car but also usable. Only selling as we have moved to a smallholding in Wales and our house is only accessible by 4x4. Car is currently kept in a relatives garage in Lymm, Cheshire. A lot of time and effort has gone into producing this car and it really does have to be seen to be really appreciated. Asking price if £17, 000 ONO.
