1972 Land Rover LWB Stationwagon, this one ticks just about all the boxes you want in a Series Land Rover, galvanised chassis, Tax exempt, good bulkhead, safari roof, overdrive, Defender mirrors, lots of seats and it's a diesel! The body is pretty straight and original, although the paintwork has been touched in here and there. The doors all shut nicely with good gaps and the door bottoms are solid.
The engine is a proper conversion with a Transit 2. 5 di engine, although not for the purists, they are virtually unburstable, give about twice the power of an original diesel engine and mpg in the 30's!
The front seats have been replaced with leather "Recaro" seats, which are very comfortable, but if they are not to your taste we can fit the originals back in.
The exhaust is stainless steel, the wheels have just been sandblasted and repainted and the tyres have good tread.
When I collected the vehicle, I drove it 150 miles home at 65 to 70 mph with no trouble, it does drive nicely, good brakes, steering ( for a Series!) and plenty of power on the hills.
The Land Rover has a long MoT and will have a full service including a cambelt on sale.
In all, a very useful vehicle with free tax, cheap insurance and very little, if any depreciation that shouldn't need any major work for a long time to come!
