We are delighted to present for sale this lovely, original Land Rover® Lightweight. On the outside, many period ex-military features still are in place - Military Bumperettes are fitted to the front and rear, and the military lifting eyes are also present. The NATO hitch has survived on the rear crossmember, and the correct military bridging plate is situated on the front grill. The matching bonnet-mounted spare is retained on the bonnet, just as it would've been in the period. The paintwork is of a good standard for a military vehicle, and adds to the nice original look. A recent green canvas has been fitted, and this really makes the look "pop".
On the inside, this vehicle has an unmolested feel - the military fly-screens with front vents are in place along with the working square heater and front demist. A recent set of seats has been fitted, and the middle houses a very rare, fully working Arctic Heater, which is designed to cope with even the coldest of temperatures - perhaps a hallmark of the service life of the vehicle. A seat-belt bar has been added to allow the fitment of three point belts in the front, and although the rear is unfitted, this could easily house bench seats to allow seating for six. Correct period matting is fitted throughout.
Out on the road, this Lightweight is a fine example of the breed - the petrol engine is whisper quiet, and barely needs any choke to start.
In summary then, if you've been looking for a nice, original classic Lightweight to use in all conditions, then this is for you. With no nasty additions and nice period features, it is sure to prove a sound investment. Clean, original Lightweights are becoming very difficult to find, so this is an ideal opportunity to purchase an unmolested example.
