With great reluctance, I'm advertising my fantastic XJ8 for sale.
I spent a great deal of time looking for this example, as it is becoming increasingly difficult to find these in rust-free condition. Only for sale as I am streamlining my fleet of cars.
Finished in Pacific Blue with Ivory leather upholstery, and ebony wood cappings.
This is a 3. 2 V8 Sport, with a 5 speed automatic gearbox. It has done just 63, 500 miles. It has four electric windows, an excellent radio with a CD autochanger, heated front windscreen, climate control, and automatic headlights.
The car's structural condition and bodywork are excellent. This does not have horrible blistered arches like the majority of these, the jacking points are all fine, and the inner wings show absolutely no signs of lifting or similar corrosion. There are minor chips and marks as you'd expect, but it's very good for its age.
The interior is in lovely condition, with the wood completely unfaded, which again, is unusual! Unfortunately, as with every XJ, the driver's bolster will need some leather paint or similar in the future. Similarly, the headlining started sagging in my ownership, so I have pinned it up.
Mechanically, the car drives beautifully, as you'd expect of an XJ. The engine is keen, gearbox smooth, and there are no unpleasant noises that I can detect.
The car has had a new aluminium thermostat as a precaution in my ownership, and has also had four new Kumho tyres fitted, at a cost of circa £400.
There is a huge amount of paperwork with the car, and I will include a genuine Jaguar oil filter, so that you can continue to maintain the car to a high standard.
The car is not perfect, but it is a very genuine example, with none of the horrible corrosion that you see on most examples.
I'll be very sorry to see it go.
The only other point of note is that the car was written off due to minor damage in the custody of a previous owner, but it has not affected the car in any way.
I will leave the nice R55 XJS registration on the car, though the car is originally S registered.
