Description

Triumph Spitfire was originally devised by Standard-Triumph to compete in the small sports car market that had opened up with the introduction of the Austin Healey Sprite. Italian designer Michelotti, who had already been responsible for the design of the Triumph Herald, was commissioned for the new project, and came up with lovely traditional, swooping body.

When I was a lad (many many years ago) you were either MG or Triumph. Most of my friends had Heralds, Spitfires and GT6’s but I have to admit I was an MG man having first a Midget then an MGB. There was always plenty of banter about the merits of both cars but the Spitfire was always considered the most attractive design.

Our Spitfire is a 1968 MK3 with the 1296cc engine and 4 speed manual gearbox. I bought this car as an unfinished project some 2 years ago and it has taken much blood, sweat and tears to get up and running and on our hire fleet. After all this time this is my first Spitfire so I hope plenty of people get to enjoy it.

£130 is for 1 day hire 9am to 6pm, longer hire available please see our website - details above for full details.
