Exterior / Body:
The car presented here is a 1964 Spitfire 4 in its original yellow (Jonquil Yellow) colour.
The bodywork of this example was restored a few years ago and the shell was given a complete fresh paint in the period colour range.
We noted a small scratch and a mark under the TRIUMPH motif on the front bonnet as well as a small chip repaired on the door edges.
A small crazing remains visible on the paint of the left rear wing and a small scratch near the left front indicator light.
The boot lid also shows a few defects in the paint.
The black PVC hood has been replaced recently and its cover is in perfect condition, without micro-scratches or tears.
The 4 wheels painted to body colour are in good condition, despite a slight marbling of the paint.
The set is fitted with 4 new tyres.
The 4 original wheel trims are in good condition with only very light oxidation.
The 2 chromed bulged mirrors are also in very good condition.
All chromes and mouldings are complete, aligned, and in excellent condition. Only the original bumpers appear slightly oxidised.
Interior:
The upholstery has been completely redone by our trimmings expert in 2018 (invoice: €988).
The original black faux-leather sports seats with white piping are in like-new condition with no wear or tears.
The carpets are also in pristine condition.
All plastics and door panels are near‑as‑new.
The dashboard has been restored along with the dash cap; the whole works is in perfect condition.
As per original, the dashboard is painted body colour.
The original bakelite steering wheel and black bakelite gearknob show a light patina.
Original JAEGER instrument cluster is fully functional.
This example is equipped with its original spare wheel and wheel cover.
Chassis:
Wheel-on-lift inspection confirms a solid chassis and body, with no visible accident damage or structural corrosion.
Fundamentals: ladder-frame chassis, sills, wheel arches, floor pans and longitudinal members are in good order.
Usage reserve: as a rule we cannot guarantee perfect alignment beyond their visually and functionally sound state as validated during road test and on the lift.
During the dynamic test, no abnormal rattles were noted from the body or suspension components (ball joints, bushings, etc.).
Braking is aligned and effective as per period standards.
Front discs show less than 20% wear and pads less than 60% wear.
Rear drums are fully functional and free of seepage.
The roadworthiness inspection conducted by our workshop prior to delivery will confirm overall operation.
Engine / Transmission:
The mechanicals operate perfectly.
Road test and compression checks performed by our workshop confirm a healthy four-cylinder engine.
Starting is easy and idle is steady.
In motion, the four-cylinder revs freely without hiccups or overheating.
This example is fitted with 2 chromed sport air filters in unused condition.
The gears engage all four gears correctly.
As is common with these models, engine/ gearbox/ axle seals can be imperfect.
