Description
The Ferrari 365 GTC/ 4, presented at the Geneva Motor Show in 1971, was produced in a very limited run (500 units between 1971 and 1972).
Under its long bonnet sits a 4. 4 L 60° V12 (Type F101 AC), derived from the Daytona's but somewhat tamed for road use. This normally-aspirated engine develops around 340 hp at 6, 200 rpm, fed by six Weber carburettors, paired with a 5‑speed manual gearbox and traditional rear-wheel drive.
Technically, the 365 GTC/ 4 rests on a tubular steel chassis and independent double wishbone suspension at the front and rear, offering balanced handling while maintaining a comfortable ride. Four-wheel disc brakes provide effective stopping power for a GT of that era.
With a top speed of around 260 km/ h, this Ferrari delivers impressive performance for a 1970s touring car.
Its design, signed by Pininfarina under the supervision of Aldo Brovarone and Filippo Sapino, is elegant and flowing, inspired by the legendary 365 GTB/ 4 “Daytona” while offering a more refined style and lines that foreshadow the Ferrari models of the 70s. The interior, meanwhile, offers a 2+2 layout, with a high level of equipment for the period, including power steering and grand touring comfort.
In summary, the Ferrari 365 GTC/ 4 is a rare and sophisticated grand tourer, marrying the power of an iconic V12 to a well-balanced chassis and the emblematic styling of classic Ferraris from the 70s.
