"Visible in our showroom in France (Atelier des Coteaux)"
The Jaguar E-Type is an icon of British motoring, renowned for its elegant design and exceptional performance. Introduced in 1961, it revolutionised the sports car market with its long, slender bonnet and flowing lines inspired by racing cars. Its XK inline-six engine offered 265 bhp in the 3. 8 L versions, enabling a top speed well over 240 km/ h. Independent suspension and four-wheel disc brakes made the E-Type a particularly agile and safe car for its era. Produced in coupé and roadster forms, it combined luxury and sportiness, with a refined leather interior and chrome instruments. The E-Type was quickly praised for its value for money and its ability to rival far more expensive cars. It became a symbol of Swinging London and inspired generations of automotive designers. Despite its limited production, it remains highly sought after by collectors and commands high prices at auction. Jaguar continued to improve the car until 1975, with 4. 2 L engines and safety enhancements. Today, the E-Type is regarded as one of the most beautiful sports cars ever designed, marrying aesthetics, performance and history.
The car shown was delivered new to New York in March 1964. This E-Type remained in the United States until 2014, where it was kept on the road. It was subsequently sold in Belgium where it was fully restored. During 2025, significant interventions were carried out at the request of its demanding owner: a refresh of the bodywork with a smart polylustre finish, installation of Big Bore exhaust headers, and a major mechanical overhaul with removal of the rear axle, replacement of wheel bearings, seals and sump gaskets, drive shaft and half-shaft joints, axle output bearings, replacement of brake actuators, etc… This car is in remarkable condition and runs perfectly, with smooth driving and a pleasant gearbox. It is ready to hit the road with no costs to incur.
