Description

1953 Jaguar XK 120 Roadster, in very good condition, with only two previous owners.

The first owner kept it for 65 years and the second for the last five, having covered very few miles.

In other words, this car is almost like a one-owner from new!

Among the entire XK 120 range (1948-1954), the XK 120 Roadster is regarded as the most beautiful, thanks to its stunning chrome-ringed windscreen and its slim, pointed front bumper, a hallmark of all XK 120s.

The XK 120 also excelled in other essential respects, such as its light weight, unlike later Jaguar XK versions (1955-1961).

This car is authentic in every respect and is of course equipped with its 3, 442 cm³ engine producing 160 bhp, the same drivetrain as all XK 120s.

The immortal XK six-cylinder engine that cemented Jaguar's reputation with the XK 120 C (Type C) victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1951 and 1953, and which powered all its cars from 1948.

Designed by the marque's chief engineer, William Heynes, the XK engine was revolutionary for its era.

With a top speed of 193 km/ h (120 mph), it was then the world's fastest production car, a speed that earned it the '120' in its name.

The Jaguar XK120 was the first production car to average over 160 km/ h for 24 hours at Le Mans, with Leslie Johnson sharing the driving with a young Stirling Moss.

The famous Italian racing driver Clemente Biondetti raced the Jaguar XK 120 at the Mille Miglia and the Targa Florio in the early 1950s, always finishing among the top in the overall standings.

Of course, our car has aluminium doors and bonnets, like all XK 120s built after 1950.

Thanks to immaculate maintenance, it has never required a full restoration.

This is a major asset that classic car collectors worldwide place a high value on.

It has always been cared for with the utmost care and, recently, the seat leather has been replaced.

Its two-tone paint suits it wonderfully and, according to old photos and the first owner's report, it left the factory in this livery.

The rear wheels can be replaced with wire-spoke wheels without the aerodynamic body trims if the buyer wishes.

One of the best-preserved Jaguar XK 120s, offered at a very reasonable price, thanks not least to its exceptional history, but also to its quality, reliability and the incomparable beauty of its Roadster version, the more prestigious.

This car also represents an excellent long-term investment, its value set to rise.

Its current price is highly attractive given its attributes.

It is extremely rare to find a Jaguar XK 120 Roadster that has stayed 65 years in the hands of its first owner!

Moreover, examples that are as well-preserved and in good running order, having never undergone a complete restoration, are rare on the international market, and with only one owner for 65 years, it is highly likely there is no other such car anywhere in the world.

That is why this Jaguar XK 120 Roadster represents a unique opportunity for Jaguar enthusiasts.

A magnificent pure-bred sports car from a golden age of motoring, which will enhance your garage and become your historic and exceptional sports car.
