This Ferrari Dino 246 GT Series M, delivered new to Rome on 2 December 1970, is dressed in one of the rarest and most striking colours ever to come out of Maranello: Giallo Senape. Only 64 Dinos were originally painted in this bold mustard-yellow shade. This example left the factory with an equally rare white interior, forming an exceptionally sought-after and highly collectible combination. The interior has since been professionally redone in black, but the original white colour is confirmed by factory papers. This offers a unique opportunity to return the car to its original configuration, extremely rare — though not at all essential, as the current presentation is simply superb.
As a Series M model, this Dino holds a special place in the evolution of the 246 GT: the perfect bridge between the early L-series and the more prevalent E-series. It combines mechanical upgrades with the clean, purist aesthetics of the early cars.
What truly distinguishes chassis #01360 is its extraordinary history. Stolen in the 1970s and subsequently re-identified under chassis number #02108, its true identity remained hidden for decades, until Ferrari Classiche intervened. In 2019, the factory carried out a thorough investigation, confirmed the car’s original identity, and officially reinstated the correct chassis number. Today, the car bears the appropriate authenticity seal, verified and documented by Ferrari Classiche, and thus regains its rightful place in the marque’s history.
Between 2017 and 2020 the car benefited from a meticulous restoration carried out by Classic Car Service in Belgium. Every detail was treated with the utmost precision, from the immaculate bodywork and perfectly aligned panels to the mechanically revised components. The result goes beyond merely visual beauty: it is a Dino that is lively, precise and deeply emotive to drive, exactly as it was designed to be.
