Description
We are proud to present this Alvis 3-Litre Special Grand Prix Racer, a one-of-a-kind model in exceptional condition. The legendary English marque Alvis, renowned for its impressive cars, existed from 1919 to 1967. During this period, it produced not only touring cars but also racing cars. The latter were known for their ruggedness and sporting performance.
This magnificent Alvis 3-Litre Special was built by Racing Green Engineering, a Welsh company. This firm is renowned for the quality of its construction and the restoration of unique historic cars. Construction of this unique Alvis was completed in 2014. It is based on a 1950 Alvis TA14 equipped with a 3-litre Alvis TC six-cylinder engine. The result is an impressive 1930s racing car, featuring 1950s technology. The quality of its construction is hard to describe, as it testament to exceptional craftsmanship and perfection. Every detail has been executed with remarkable precision.
As mentioned earlier, the original chassis of a 1950 Alvis TA14 forms the basis of this unique race car. The aluminium bodywork has been handmade by the artisans of Racing Green Engineering, drawing inspiration from pre-war Alvis racing cars of the legendary marque. The stunning Old English White finish, perfectly matched to the body, with black stripes and accents as well as a black leather interior, creates a perfect harmony. The imposing long bonnet, low driving position and large black-spoked wheels emphasise the pre-war character of this Alvis 3-Litre Special. The car is in exceptional condition and its paintwork bears a deep, radiant shine. Naturally, the chromes and fittings are also flawless.
The interior is of equally outstanding quality. The black leather bucket seats are firm and in perfect condition. The dashboard features stylish instruments, and a precious Halda Twinmaster exhaust system has been installed, allowing the car to be used on rallies and historic competitions. This has happened in the past, as evidenced by the old FIVA certificate still present with the car, which also competed in the Gran Premio Nuvolari in Italy. A black cover is also supplied with this Alvis 3-Litre. The full service history is available. Currently, this Alvis is registered in Germany.
Under the bonnet lies an impressive 3-litre six-cylinder Alvis engine (TC type) paired with a fully synchronised four-speed manual gearbox. All technical components are in impeccable condition. During the construction of this unique racing car, the original chassis and technical components were fully restored and revised to perfection. The result: a car that starts at the drop of a hat, delivers exceptional handling, and whose engine produces a lively and captivating note. It is not a replica, but a genuine and unique Alvis Special, built by a renowned specialist. An exceptional find for a pre-war sports car enthusiast, offering the driving comfort of the 1950s.
