Designed by Pininfarina, the Beta Montecarlo stands out from the outset with a particularly modern and balanced design. The first Lancia developed under the Fiat era, it draws on the marque's technical expertise whilst adopting a particularly interesting architecture with its four-cylinder engine mounted in a mid-rear position.
Introduced in 1975, the Montecarlo quickly established itself amongst the most original Italian sports cars of its generation. Its design would also serve as the basis for numerous sporting evolutions, notably the celebrated competition versions that allowed Lancia to excel at the highest level.
Lancia has always distinguished itself through its technical choices and competition involvement, from the Aurelia to the Fulvia Coupé, before the golden years of the Stratos and, a few years later, the legendary Delta Integrale.
