Ferrari blood in a Fiat suit
An elegant Italian coupé, designed by the legendary Bertone, with a V6 under the bonnet whose origins trace directly back to Ferrari.
The Dino name pays tribute to Alfredo Ferrari, the son of Enzo Ferrari. In the 1960s, Ferrari was developing a new V6 engine required for Formula 2 homologation. Ferrari therefore had to produce a substantial number of engines, which led to a remarkable collaboration between Ferrari and Fiat. The result was unique: Ferrari engineering in a Fiat, wrapped in a car that was elegant, sporty and genuinely usable as a daily driver.
From 1969 onwards, production of the Dino 2400 was also transferred to Maranello, where the Fiat was assembled alongside the Ferrari 246 GT.
Behind the wheel, the character of the Dino truly comes alive. The V6 revs eagerly and melodiously, whilst the rear-wheel drive gives the car that wonderfully playful mechanical sensation.
The car spent many years in Switzerland, where it underwent a complete body restoration. The engine was subsequently rebuilt in its entirety in England, with additional attention paid to its mechanical components in 2017.
The Dino then moved to the Netherlands, where further investments were made in both the mechanics and the interior.
The most recent and comprehensive work was carried out by Mugello Engineering. The engine was completely stripped down and fully rebuilt — a thorough overhaul where the mechanics were genuinely reconstructed from the ground up.
The technical foundation of this Dino thus benefited once again from serious attention. The result is a car whose remarkable Ferrari heritage is not merely interesting on paper, but something you genuinely feel behind the wheel.
