The Appeal
The Mini Cooper 35 was a limited edition model produced to celebrate 35 years of the iconic Mini Cooper in 1996, and has become one of the most iconic of all of the seemingly countless special editions of Issigonis' classic city car. This particular example was enhanced with a genuine John Cooper S conversion in 2014, transforming its performance while maintaining that ever-iconic perky character that the Mini Cooper is known for.
Having been in the current ownership for 18 years, this 1996 Rover Mini Cooper 35LE has clearly been a much-loved car. It's benefited nicely from a strict programme of professional maintenance by a well-known Mini restorer, with recent work including a new boot floor and rear panel. The engine rebuild and S conversion in 2014 have improved performance, with specialists Hampswaite Minis commenting on its impressive speed "for what's essentially a standard engine."
