Beschreibung
According to Alfa Romeo Heritage museum's Certificato Di Origine, this Alfa Romeo 1750 GT Veloce - Chassis No: AR 1450223 was manufactured in Alfa Romeo's factory in Arese, Milan, Italy on 17th May 1968 and was an original RHD car that was shipped to Manama, Bahrain on 24th May 1968.
It is finished in its original colour scheme of Bianco Spino with a retrimmed Skai Nero Black leather interior, new Black carpets, new headlining, original interior fittings, Wood Rimmed Steering Wheel, 1779cc Twin Cam Engine, Five Speed Gearbox, original Stainless Steel Bumpers and 15" Steel Wheels with original hub caps.
We are told that the car was brought over to the UK from Bahrain by its owner some 20 or so years ago and was put in to storage before resurfacing in early 2018 when it was acquired by the current Italian owner. Other than this, we do not know anything about its early life in Bahrain or where it went afterwards as unfortunately there were no documents or history file with the car.
The car was found to be in remarkable condition and it only required a cosmetic repaint of the exterior and new trim as mentioned and mechanically the car is excellent with a lovely engine and gearbox with no issues evident and the only works/ parts required during recommissioning were a new Brake and Clutch Master Cylinder, new Brake Servo Units, various service items such as spark plugs and new filters, new oil and filter and a new set of tyres.
The car was given to us by its Italian owner to prepare it for re-registration and sale on his behalf and we MOT'd the car in September 2018 and it was registered with the DVLA on 1st October 2018 and issued with the period number plate FNE 741F from 1968.
The car is clear on HPi, but with no history we are unable to confirm if the mileage indicated on the speedometer of 97, 340 is genuine, but we are pretty sure it is. We can certainly testify that this car although not concours, is in really nice condition overall and it drives superbly with all the fun and characteristics of these lovely twin-cam engines.
This is a very rare early model and is as such very collectable.
Upon sale, it will come with a new MOT (although now exempt), a pre-sales service and checkover and our own 6 Month Mechanical Warranty which can be upgraded and extended at additional cost if required.
Car on display @ our showrooms in Mortlake.
