A VERY interesting Jaguar 420 G - make NO mistake this is a total restoration project and a Barnfind in the true sense of the word...
We have been tracking this car for many years and it bobbed up recently so be bought it, we had in mind to restore it but on the back of a massive amount of interest due to the car staring in the 1990 Kemp Brothers Miramax Move 'The Krays' have decided that there might be a movie buff or a Jaguar Enthusiast out there who could possibly want to add it to their car collection and who are we to stand in the way..
This car is just 4 Owners from New was supplied by a Jaguar Agent in London 'new' to a Company that is still in existence - The car has all its original parts, is Matching Numbers Both Chassis & Engine - Being a 420G it runs an E Type Engine & Gearbox - This is an Ex Concours de Elegance entrant.
After the 1990 movie (when the car became famous) the car was sold and taken off the road in 1991 when it had covered just 33, 000 documented and believed to be correct mileage.
We stumbled over the car by complete accident in Northern Ireland where it has sat in a dry barn for the last 28 years - We had the car trailered back to London where it now sits in storage in Battersea - we knew it was a famous car but could not and cannot believe just how many people have stopped and said 'Do you know that the Krays car?' amazing really .... This 420 G was chosen because the notorious Brother had this exact model in exact matching colours and thus this is the closest car possible to 'The Krays'
One of only 26 Jaguar 420 G cars still registered at the DVLA ....
This car needs total renovation although it is not 'rotten' as a pear' it will require some welding work - our expert has expressed that he believes the doors and wings have never been off the car as the gaps are so original, the interior is complete, the wood requires total renovation, the car has a front map tray ( a rare option) the Hub Caps and tool kit are in the boot... The leather seating is in great order although patterned naturally the car is 53 years old.
Engine Turns but is not firing / Body Work / Wood / Carpets all in need of love!
We have many pictures and inspection is welcome as I say the car is in London in secure storage near to our Battersea Offices.
We have taken advice and have two auction houses very interested to sell this car as well as interest from a renowned American TV Car Dealer / Restorer but thought we would air the car where we were in control for the moment .
