Here for sale we have a Land Rover® Series 2a, in popular Light Pastel Green with soft-top conversion. This vehicle was previously sold by us several years ago and we have been able to acquire it once more - we therefore know more about this particular Land Rover ® than others we may sell. When we collected this vehicle from the customers' holiday home garage, it was lovely to hear it fire up first time. It was little used, doing less than 100 miles in the last three years due to the keeper being overseas most of the time.
As can be seen, it's quite an original old girl with wing top mounted period wing mirrors, razor bonnet, period number plates, rear step, rear grab handles, original galvanised cappings and towbar. The canvas top is brand new and we think this 2a, with deep sills surviving, looks the part. 750 tyres have been fitted to increase the rolling radius and give the effect of an overdrive and making cruising a more relaxing and modern affair. Free Wheeling Hubs further improve economy and reduce wear to the front axle.
On the inside, it's really nice to see the original steering wheel looking great, a full set of three front seats, and an unmolested dash and interior. The "optional" heater is fitted, but other than that the original minimality makes one smile! The rear is currently unfitted, save for a rear mat to compliment the two in the front, although rear bench seats and belts are able to be retro fitted if required.
Out on the road, this old girl does exactly what it was designed to do - the petrol engine pulls well, and she trundles along without any dramas.
In summary, this is a well presented Series 2a hardtop, tax exempt, petrol. It doesn't break the bank, but does get you cheap, classic motoring and a sound introduction into the appreciating Land Rover® market.
