Jaguar Racing Team’s car, the first Silverstone of a limited edition of 50 coupes and convertibles. Jaguar Special Vehicles Operation team, SVR and Project 8 cars, was given the task to produce a special high performance car to celebrate Jaguars return to F1 racing in 2000.
The Jaguar XKR Silverstone was developed and this was the first production car, which was used in the adverts and as a high profile demonstration car by F1 racing drivers Luciano Burti and Johnny Herbert who took Michael Owen round Silverstone in this car, see video on Johnny Herberts web site. Jaguar Racing Team maintained the car for the first 5 years.
The Jaguar XKR Silverstone was strictly oriented toward performance, with the 370bhp supercharged 4. 0 litre AJ-V8 aluminium engine (0-60 in around 5. 2 seconds), Jaguar SVR special handling pack calibrated for taut handling and including CATS (Computer Advanced Technology Suspension) system.
Equipped with Brembo 4-piston brakes with vented disks, 20-inch split rim BBS 'Detroit' alloy wheels, stability control system, speed-sensitive power steering system, radar-based adaptive cruise control system. Silverstone platinum silver paint, Silverstone bonnet badge and door treads, maple veneer fascia, leather piped sports interior and a 320-watt Alpine sound system.
Jaguar plus 3 owners, full Jaguar service history, all handbooks, new rear disks and pads and four Pirelli P Zero tyres. This genuine Silverstone featured in an Edition of Jaguar World magazine.
