Description

'Blondie' requires a new home!
Originally distributed by Henlys, London to H. L. Abbott, Leigh On Sea, Essex. Some time thereafter she travelled to America (believed to be Texas) and stayed in the warm and dry until around 2000; when she was repatriated with her original registration number (unbelievably, when I purchased her, she returned to Essex) The previous owner (engineer) began a slow, but steady restoration, lasting nearly 10 years (due to work and other commitments).
Much time, effort and love was put into this matching numbers car and in the last 7 years, I have continued to improve her accordingly.
Since my ownership, she has only covered approx 1k miles.

Past Work carried out -
Engine rebuild (by previous owner)
Gearbox rebuild (by specialist)
Complete wiring loom
Exhaust replaced
Adjustable rear shocks
Ambla seats reupholstered (specialist)
New carpets throughout
Woodwork refreshed
Complete replacement of door seals
Brake/ fuel lines replaced
New Vredestein tyres (still in virtually new cond)
Power steering seals changed
New crows feet
New headlights
Original paintwork flattened off (original panels very straight and in good condition) fully prepared and sprayed in original colour - sahara/ honey beige. Stunning when polished.

More Recent Work -
Charging upgrade
Starter/ dynamo reconditioned
New battery
Electronic igniton/ coil
Fuel tank replaced (coated internally/ externally)
Carbs rebuilt (specialist) - airbox etc removed (available) and trumpets fitted - breathing/ performance greatly improved.
Boot carpet
New period number plates (to be fitted - images to follow)

Being one of only approx 2788 made, she's quite rare; with potentially only a few left. The straight port E-type head propels her along almost as fast as a 3. 8. Headlining is original. and in excellent condition. Original 1968 Pirelli whitewall spare tyre.
Heritage Certificate.
Full history since repatriation.
Runs very well, but would benefit a rolling road set-up following carb rebuild.
Wiper motor requires overhaul.
Very minor localised bubbling on bottom of rear passenger doors & bottom of boot (never worsened during my ownership).
Spares - new coombe spats, epoxy resin coated petrol tank, new rim embelishes, 4 Dunlop wires - solid but refurb required.
Other odds & ends.
