For sale is a nice 1931 Sunbeam Model 9 project.
Frame, engine and gearbox all dates from 1931. Bough as a unit, so very likely matching numbers. The project consists of:
Frame: Painted and ready to use as is. Very clear frame number stamping.
Girder fork: Painted and ready to use as is including links, girder fork spring etc. All complete including pair of original alloy damper knobs
Engine: Complete engine including big fin twin port cylinder head.
The crankcases are very sound, no cracks or wear.
Timing cover is in good condition (numbers match that of the crankcase halves)
Oil pump is complete and good
The cylinder has a few broken fins. The bore looks good with only light surface rust.
Rocker box is in good condition and is complete with rockers.
Flywheel assembly/ conrod, in good condition.
Included with the engine are numerous new bearings, cadmium plated bolts, spindles etc.
Also included with the project is a spare timing cover from a later Model 9 with cams, camwheels, rockers, oil pump included.
3 speed gearbox:
Complete, gears / shafts look good. All threads are good.
Clutch: A complete clutch that needs a complete rebuild.
Kick start krank: good condition, ready for plating.
Brake pedal: good condition, ready for plating.
Alloy primary chainguard with all covers. In good condition.
Front wheel: Painted hub, rim and spokes. Build and ready to use as is.
Rear wheel: Rear hub and brakeplate has been painted. Two 19inch chrome rims included together with spokes.
Mudguards front and back: Both painted and ready to use.
Original mudguard stays: Need fitting and paint.
Petrol tank: painted, ready to use as is. Petrol tank cap needs plating
Oil tank: painted ready to use as is. Oil tank cap needs plating.
Rear stand: Painted and ready to use as is.
Engine brackets: front and back. Painted and ready to use.
Magdyno: included, needs a full rebuild
Original handlebar: needs plating.
Box with spares of numerous original parts, spindles, engine parts, spare (but worn) rocker box.

Missing bits are:
Carburettor
Exhaust pipe/ silencer
Seat
Levers
Light rear chain guard
Rear light
Various fittings, oil/ petrol lines.
