This 6 cylinder 426 phaeton has been hidden for many decades, by three known owners in Connecticut. Originally delivered to a Boston dealer in February of 1927, this is a very original “un-messed with” car. This a 5 passenger phaeton with a rear mounted spare, and still retains its original chassis and body tag.
The motor turns by hand, and has fresh non-detergent oil in it. The starter was recently bench tested, and turns well. The car is fitted with an oil rectifier, which is a desirable accessory that is becoming harder to find.
Some items will have to be sourced, including the top holder / saddle, door latches and 3 door handles. The cars original side curtains and irons are included, but the curtains isinglass will need to be redone. Top bows (4) are also included, and an additional front bumper, which is in better condition than what is currently on the car. The front and rear bottom seat cushion frames and springs are included, but have come apart.
The large 23 inch wheels have been sand blasted, primered and painted. Brand new tubes and flaps were installed on new tires that were in storage (in their wrappers) for many years. This is a very solid Packard phaeton with a great deal of potential. Asking $13, 200 USD.
