This 1. 6-liter Type 616/ 12 flat-four was in storage from the 1970s until being acquired by the seller a year ago as part of a group of five 356 engines. It was originally built for a Porsche 356B 1600S and comes equipped with a fresh-air heater system installed on German and some European-market 356s.
The exhaust system and engine tin were also repaired and powder coated. Stampings pictured below detail the engine number and type. This 356 Super flat-four is now offered in running condition.
