HERE is my 1968 MG 1300 Mark II 2-door. A very early example of the 2-door 1300cc twin-carb as you can tell by the earlier style dash. These 2-door MGs are rarely offered for sale these days and this little gem is a delight. The speedo shows just 37, 000 miles and I would imagine that there is every chance of that being correct judging by the car's interior which is clearly original apart from a recent new carpet set. She drives as she should with the 1275cc unit and feels fit and healthy with good oil pressure. She is so pretty in her original shade of Connaught Green. Only one or two minor paint imperfections are present but they do not detract from her overall beauty.
A few years ago, prior to being laid up, she was treated to a new sub frame and a stainless steel exhaust.
My classic cars are motoring antiques. Please do not confuse them with your one-year-old Range Rover. This car, for example, is 54-years-old and so will have quirks and faults in there somewhere. These are not always apparent when buying and selling classics which is what I do. I do not restore them, nor do I pretend that they are concours cars. The majority of them go out as they came in, and I continue to enjoy finding more - a skill which is becoming increasingly difficult as many of you will be aware. They deserve to be taken on as "family pets" and cared for through thick and then. They don't make them any more and demand now out-strips supply.
