1965 Ford Mustang coupe. Car imported to Malta by myself in March 2015, purchased from a highly reputable classic car dealer in the Netherlands, ER Classics.
Car is still very original having all factory original body panels, date code correct engine 289ci (4. 7L) 4 bbl carb (original Autolite) this being an A-Code car. Engine is all standard having only the so called K-Code dress up kit (chrome valve covers and chrome open element air filter housing). Choke is automatic by heat tubes.
Gearbox is a 3-Speed Green Dot automatic. Gear ratio is 3. 89:1 (open type). Car is complete and looks pretty much just like it did when new as nothing has been added (except for the stainless steel wheel well trims) and nothing removed. Interior is original Deluxe more commonly known as 'Pony'. Interior is all there and original including the AM only radio. Also has the full length console. Condition is very good. It has only 1 little tear on the driver's seat base which has remained the same size since I got the car.
At some point in time car has been resprayed in its original colour, Springtime Yellow, never had a colour change. It also has the visibility pack option consisting of factory tinted glass, windshield band, remote control driver's mirror, 2 speed wiper motor, windshield washers and day/ night rear view mirror.
It came out from the Michigan, Dearborn plant with power drum brakes but at some point the fronts have been changed to Ford Granada (USA) disk brakes. Car has dual exhausts with Flowmaster Delta Series 40 mufflers. Pipes were done new in Malta in aluminised steel with factory exhaust tips. Wheels are Scott Drake lookalikes of the optional factory Styled Steel Wheels but 15" instead of 14". Car also has factory power steering.
Car has clear VIN and matching driver's door tag still intact. Mileage shows 22, 000miles but it is to be assumed it actually is 122, 000 given the car turned 57 years this past May. Body, paint, chrome, interior and engine bay are all in quite good condition for age considering car has never been restored but only resprayed.
Viewing is highly recommended, if you cannot view personally but have friends or relatives living or visiting Malta they are welcome to view the car for you. I got to know this car very well, it's a very good Mustang. Lately it had new shocks fitted, drum shoes, disk pads, front brake flexible pipes, upper arm ball joint, lower arms, sway bar bushings, about 2 years ago master cylinder was replaced as were the rear wheel cylinders, new factory style radiator about 5 years ago. Very solid, original looking Mustang, never molested. Ideal to someone who is more into original looking classic cars. Any questions please ask. Will help with shipping to UK.
