A DREAM FOR THE PORSCHE COLLECTOR!!
By the mid-1960s, production of the 356 was winding down, as Porsche was betting its future on the all-new six-cylinder 911. Cabriolets were a mainstay of the 356 series, and just 587 were constructed for 1965. They were top-of-the-line, expensive, and hand-crafted with the best materials and workmanship. And they were an absolute pleasure to drive over long distances. The C’s 75-horsepower engine replaced the 1600 Super of the 356 B, and the Cs and SCs were now equipped with very effective ATE disc brakes and a larger, stronger clutch. The torsion bars were slightly smaller in diameter for a better ride, and the padded fabric top ensured quiet at highway speeds. With the top down, drivers and passengers could enjoy alfresco motoring at its finest!
The magnificent 1965 Porsche 356 C Cabriolet featured here is finished in gorgeous factory Signal red over the black leather interior and matching folding convertible top. This incredible motorcar was ordered new by a prominent Southern California physician who flew to the factory in Germany to take delivery, eventually selling it in 1967 to an Air Force Lieutenant stationed in Washington state where it remained for the next 48 years before retiring and moving to Palm Desert where we acquired it. A comprehensive restoration was just completed in 2022 with only 40 test miles, this exquisite example is now ready for its next caretaker whether to drive or to put on the show circuit. We are proud to offer this investment-grade Porsche Cabriolet to the most demanding collector, investor, or enthusiast who appreciates a well-restored original car.
