We are delighted to present for sale this very high specification Land Rover® Series 3, presented in popular Light Pastel Green colour scheme with Limestone Wheels. It is rare we see a vehicle quite so highly spec’d – read on below.
Externally, this has all the hallmarks of a “good” Series 3 – vintage number plates, recent bumper, recent canvas, bonnet mounted spare, larger defender door mirrors for increased visibility whilst driving, rear grab handles, etc etc. It sits on a matching set of part worn tyres, complete with the spare – these are slightly larger than standard and are cross climate for the best compromise between off and on road ability.
On the inside, the interior is, as the photos show, largely standard – with three front deluxe seats, all with seat belts. Deluxe matting is fitted to the floor area. The rear is unfitted, but could house bench seats on request for £595 – this would bring the capacity to seven occupants including the driver. There is a load mat to the rear floor to prevent scratches.
Out on the road, this Series 3 drives as well as one can expect from the period set up – with the uprated Weber carburettor affording more power than standard. Parabolic Springs give a much improved ride over standard. The larger tyres give some welcome additional gearing and drops the revs whilst in the cruise. It is evident from the test drive that this is a vehicle which has been rebuilt in times past – as it has a well sorted feel from behind the wheel. It delivers a very pleasing period driving experience.
In summary, if you are looking for a Series 3 Land Rover® which can last the test of time, then this could be for you. With a galvanised chassis and bulkhead, this would be ideal of the owner who plans to pass the vehicle down through the family, or as a longer term investment which proves to be more enjoyable than money in the bank.
