We are delighted to present, on the behalf of a customer, a superb, genuine Station Wagon, rebuilt onto a galvanised chassis, with almost every possible upgrade. We previously sold this vehicle several years ago, and are delighted to offer it for sale once again.
Externally, there are lots of pleasing features – the vintage plates, bonnet mounted spare, defender door mirrors, rear grab handles, dual rear step, mudflaps and a height adjustable towbar and electrics are fitted. This gives a nice blend of period and modern features, meaning greater utility for the new owner, without sacrificing that period look. The bodywork is also of a spray type finish rather than brush painted, which is great to see. As per a genuine station wagon, alpine lights and side windows are fitted, with the two tier safari roof. The vehicle also comes supplied with a Bike Rack, which the previous keeper used to take his motorcycle to shows.
On the inside, there are 3 front seats, two with highbacks and integrated headrests, and a standard centre seat. Deluxe matting is fitted, and because this is a station wagon, deluxe trim is fitted to the doors for greater luxury and sound proofing. The rear has a pair of twin benches fitted, to bring seating to seven people, and as with all station wagons, the headliner survives in good condition, which is great to see. Since we sold the vehicle, the current owner has, at great expense, sourced a rubberised interior matting set, which is contoured and looks fantastic. A stereo and speakers is fitted which has both bluetooth capabilities and hands free calling, which is a great addition.
Perhaps the biggest part of this vehicle though is the galvanised chassis and the driving experience it provides. The 200TDI is a bullet proof, reliable and economical engine and it is mated to Range Rover diffs. The current owner drove this from London to deliver it back to us, and it did not skip a beat. This gives unrivalled performance and economy, whilst lengthening gearing ratios for relaxed, modern style motoring – thus making it much more useable on a regular basis. To further assist with economy, a Kenlowe electric fan has been fitted, along with free wheeling hubs – this will give the best possible economy and performance over standard – around twice the power, and twice the economy too. To help further with comfort, a full set of parabolic springs has been fitted, improving ride quality considerably. When we sold the vehicle, the current owner decided, at great personal expense, to have electric power steering fitted – this has a sensitivity control which allows for more assistance for parking and less when at speed, so you always get good control at all possible speeds. A Roamerdrive has also been fitted, giving the ability to cruise in modern traffic whilst using less fuel, and having a quieter cruising experience. It gives the best (more modern) driving experience possible that a Series Land Rover® can deliver. With the light and airy cabin and the ease in which it can seat seven occupants, it is a joy to be in out on the tarmac, too.
In summary, this is a high spec, rebuilt, tax exempt, 200tdi, original Station Wagon in a great colour, not often seen with this level of optional extras. It would make a fantastic purchase for someone looking to use their Series Land Rover® on a more frequent basis, and with the bonus of that galvanised chassis, it should stand the test of time too.
