Description
I commissioned the build of a RHD Ford Model A rolling chassis with a local company last year. I wanted a two seater vintage special, and the result is what you see in the photographs.
The aim was to have a wooden coach built body constructed on the chassis, and finished in vinyl. The cowl is from a Nuffield tractor, into which the standard Model A radiator fits very neatly. The aim was to have an exhaust that ran outside of the body, along the length of the car under the drivers elbow, hence the single door on the passenger side.
The running gear is standard Ford Model A, all unmodified. The chassis was refurbished & fettled prior to the body build.
The engine is a 3. 3 litre Model A, and has been expertly rebuilt by the workshop owner, and includes a Modern valve set for adjustable tappets, along with the adjustable tappets themselves. It has been line bored and fitted with a new piston ring set and a modern rear oil seal amongst others.
