Repatriated from the USA in September 2019, this is a very attractive and well sorted example of the iconic TD which took the States by storm in the 1950s - educating the Americans about proper sports cars! This car was converted to right-hand drive in 2020, with much of the work being completed by a previous owner, and further work was then carried out by ourselves to get the car roadworthy, running properly, and MOTd. It was then purchased by the current custodian in October 2021 and he has further improved the car with works including the fitting of a new petrol tank and high ratio back axle. It is now in very good condition, bodily and mechanically, with good panel fit including the doors. The paint finish is good with only a few minor blemishes.
The interior again, is in fine condition, as is the weather gear. The underside of the car is very clean and tidy, and has not suffered from any rust issues – probably because it spent so much of its life in America. It starts immediately and the engine runs very smoothly with good oil pressure and no overheating. Driving is a pleasure, with great performance from the engine – further enhanced by the change of back axle. No nasty clunks or bumps, all nice and smooth for a 1950s car. The low mileage tyres were renewed approximately two years ago. Accompanying paperwork includes old invoices, V5C, current MOT, handbook and workshop manual. A very keenly priced motor car, ready to be enjoyed.
